My grassroots campaign for Long Beach City
Council is now over, and thank you to all of my volunteers
and supporters. The election is over, but I hope these ideas and
issues live on in the Second District.
Vote: June 6, 2006
As a long time volunteer with
non-profit organizations and neighborhood causes, I have worked to make Long Beach a better place to live.
I am running to bring a voice in City Hall to the people who live and work in Long Beach,
the neighborhoods and local businesses.
I will bring Long Beach -
-
Public Safety - our population has increased in the last decade, so we need more police and fire
protection. We also need community policing, after school programs, and to reopen our libraries.
-
Green Collar jobs - so that we can improve our economy and provide good jobs to our residents
while improving our environment.
It takes more than just commitment and caring, as your City councilwoman I would track many ever changing issues and
be able to work with Neighborhood and Business Associations, business associations, churches, unions, various city
departments and promote collaboration. I also want to hear from you.
These phone numbers may help with common concerns I hear as I walk the
neighborhoods:
- Police non-emergency phone number: 435-6711
- Long Beach Fire Department: 570-2500
- Graffiti Hotline: 570-2773
- Abandoned grocery carts:
800-252-4613
- Long Beach City Clerk's office: 570-6101
- Code Enforcement: 570-CODE
